Hi. I 'm doing a 5 speed swap into an 86 trans am, and i need to know what the difference is between the one peice rear main T5 flywheel and the two peice rear main T5 flywheel is, or if here is no difference? Also, i know that there is a 168 tooth flywheel and a 153 tooth flywheel. Anyone know which i have? It's a 305 TPI with a700R4 setup currently, and i'm not sure what the flywheel is stock. One piece flywheel has a smaller bolt circle and uses a longer 1"retaining bolt. Most of those wil be external balanced. Two piece has a larger bolt pattern ad most of these are internal balance. You have a 153 tooth flywheel with striaght bolt pattern small starter. Anything bigger and it won't fit under the floor pan. BTW a stock FW weighs right at 35 pounds.
