T5 trans# 13-52-065-916 ?? s10? 5 spd.?

Ok guys,
I hate to ask the T5 questions because I know the info is on the internet but I am having a hard time pinning this down..I have looked and looked and heres what I get:

I found a guy claiming to have a T5 that is supposed to be out of an 88 S10..
The number is 13-52-065-916

I looked it up and I get 13-52-065 = Ford
13-52-065-916= basic four

I can't seem to link the numbers with a 5 speed trans other then the Ford??
Guy said it came out of his s10..I would think he should know but can anyone please help me to determine what the heck this is? By the way I am emailing the guy and he is very slow to respond so all I have is the number at this point..I may give up on the guy all together but now I am determined to know what this trans is for sure??

First off, that number will not tell you what that transmission fits. Here is how the number breaks down:

13-52 is the series of transmission, T5 in this case
065 tells us that the part is a case
916 is the variety of the case, ie, the 16th variety in the list

I don't know where you get the 13-52-065 from, but if it is the assembly number it breaks down like this:

13-52 is the series of transmission, T5 in this case
000 tells us that the part is a transmission assembly (usually dropped from the number)
065 is the variety of the transmission assembly, ie, the 65th variety in the list

In other words, 13-52-065 can also be written as 13-52-000-065 and can also be written as 13-52-65, and means exactly the same thing in all three cases.

Regardless, modern Borg Warner numbers are ALWAYS EXACTLY 10 digits long, though sometimes the extraneous zeroes are dropped.

The ONLY positive way to determine exactly what a T5 fits is to get the assembly number(s) off the tag either under a tail bolt or glued to the top of the transmission.
