Been looking for T5 overdrive transmission to go with my 302 GMC inline 6. I finally got one from an 85 Blazer 4 wheel drive with 2.8 V6. Now the problem, I thought the tail shaft from the transfer case would bolt up to the trans WRONG. Different bolt pattern. Will any 2 wheel drive tail shaft fit on a 4 wheel drive trans? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

What you might try doing if it's for 4wd is look for an older Ford or International divorced transfer case, which would require a short driveshaft (6") between trans and case. This is a technique used by mud racers so they can use powerglides.

As usual I didn't read, so I'll try and recover by saying you may be able to use a main uotput shaft and housing from a camaro etc. Looking in the Chiltons repair book they appear to be the same.
