Tach redline or redline limits

Guage cluster tach in Firebird reads in the redzone, 5750 up to 8000 rpms.
Is this considered a 5750 redline or an 8000 redline limit tach, when in actuality, it is a kinda "safety Rpm zone" of sorts and not a "redline"???
Please clarify for me, after all these years, I never really thought about it until my Bud said I have a 5750 redline tach..
Thanks!!
T.

5750 would be the redline for the stock engine that came in the car.
