Tail, Signal and Brake loght wiring
Okay, here is what I have and I think I need a little assist in wiring these tail lights. Lights are leds and have 4 wires. Ground, turn, brake, tail. My wiring harness only has turn, tail, and ground. My turn signals go through the stop light switch, which, when turns are on, it magically overrides brake light and flashes on that side.
I know ground goes to ground, turn goes to turn, and tail goes to tail, but, what do I do with the brake wire from the tail light assembly?? Just not use it, or splice in with turn???:confused::( Thanks, guys |
Some systems have seprate brake and turn lights. I'd play with it and find the look your looking for. Putting the the 2 wires together and connecting to your single stop/turn wire won't hurt anything in my opinon.

See attached schematic for turn, brake, taillight wiring.
The brake light circuit goes to the turn signal switch. This is what your harness has. If you can add another wire directly from the brake light switch to the LED assembly, the brake lights will work even when the turn signals are on. vicrod |
Alright. Thanks, guys for the assist

2 choices:
tie the stop and turn together will give you brighter stop lights or if you have a separate 3rd brake light circuit in your harness use that for the brake circuit. youd still have the brake light function through your turn signals too. i'd try the second idea to see if it works right and give sufficient turn signal lights |
