tailshaft uni angles
Hello to everybody .
Im fitting a 350 chev and turbo 400 into a custom 6 wheeler (picture of the rear axle assembly is in my profile ) Im not driving a front diff (6wd) only the twin rear axles .
My question for discussion is ; The rear diff driven buy the tailshaft from the gearbox is offset by several possibly around 6 inches to one side (ex 4wd) and the rear of the gearbox is centre of car .
Will this cause any problems as I notice virtually all 4wd vehicles have the gearbox flange in line with the diff pinion flange .
I kinda remember old Ford,or maybe Dodge, vans had an offset pinion in relation to the rest of the drivetrain....it worked back then...if the rear u-joint isn't in danger of binding, I'm thinking with this build,you have no choice but to go ahead and run it.
