talk about marketing see this add

I think this is the coolest ad ever. Be sure to read the info first,
then press the link to watch the clip.
And you thought those people that set up roomfuls of dominos to knock
over were amazing. There are no computer graphics or digital tricks in
the film. Everything you see really happened in real time exactly as
you see it.
The film took 606 takes. On the first 605 takes, something, usually
very minor, didn't work. They would then have to set the whole thing up
again. The crew spent weeks shooting night and day. By the time it was
over, they were ready to change professions.

The film cost six million dollars and took three months to complete
including full engineering of the sequence. In addition, it's two
minutes long so every time Honda airs the film on British television,
they're shelling out enough dough to keep any one of us in clover for a
lifetime . However, it is fast becoming the most downloaded
advertisement in Internet history. Honda executives figure the ad will
soon pay for it self simply in "free viewings" (Honda isn't paying a
dime to have you watch this commercial!).
When the ad was pitched to senior executives, they signed off on it
immediately without any hesitation - including the costs. Everything;
you see in the film (aside from the walls, floor, ramp, and complete
Honda Accord) is parts from those two cars.
The voiceover is Garrison Keillor. When the ad was shown to Honda
executives, they liked it and commented on how amazing computer
graphics have gotten. They fell off their chairs when they found out
it was for real. If it jerks allow it complete the download and it will restsrt and run smooth.

My dad sent me that one a week or so ago...Very innovative use of car parts...

BUT!!
I am having a hard time believing that the tires rolled UP that ramp like that.. watch the video at that point and see how the wheels with tires actually start slow, then accelerate up that ramp, as if they were rolling down instead of up.

And that muffler sure seems to keep on rolling past the point at which you'd think it would have stopped.

Then the spring that rolls off of the windshield hits the ground and doesn't bounce one bit...

Why am I so anal?

I DON'T KNOW!!

Later, mikey

I'm wrong

http://www.snopes.com/photos/adverti...s/hondacog.asp

The tires have weights in them that are over center so they are actually accellerating as they go uphill.

But I never would have known had I not questioned it in the first place...

I am thinking, the way the Japanese are so anal (even more anal than you Mikey) they would spend a month getting that muffler to do that, then each of the other pieces as well. I mean, have you seen those dancing robots????

That is wild, absolutely wild.

lol first time I saw a Goldberg (I dunno the actual spelling) machine utilizing large coffee cans rolling uphill - It blew my mind till I found out they had taped exercise leg weights to the inside.

Kinda defies logic....in a way

And this ad isnt that new I saw it about a year or so ago (on the same site I think) I also thought it was CG
