Talk me out of it, please!

My friend has decided he doesn't want to fix this car up for his son. I can get it fair priced, not a great deal but it's all complete, good solid car and the money goes to his sons first car.

I have visions of a 440 wedge, 727 tranny, fender well headers, back half it with tub's, lot of rubber under the rear Pro-Street style.

Somebody stop me!!!

What's wrong with a way out 460/C6 and really mess peoples minds . No one builds something that ugly without a purpose. They were homely when they were first designed 'way back when'

That thing's cool. But instead of pro-street (done to death) I'd build it in period correct drag style. The fender well header part is right-on though.

The best thing you could do with that car is a restomod. 440, 727, disk brakes, and AC. What a great boulevard cruiser that would make. Too big and heavy for a drag or pro-street car. Gota love those forward look cars.

Man I don't even remember the last time I saw one of those! Led sled for me, awesome roof line, do something with the grille, lowered with wire wheels, 2 tone, silver over charcoal grey, polish the chrome. Buy it before it's gone, where are you going to find another one? Chrysler running gear, nothing fancy, 413, 440, 383 with a torqueflite.

Why?

To me, you only put your time and money into something in this hobby for one of two reasons:

#1. You LOVE the car

#2. To possibly turn a profit - not easy to do, and very unlikely for this model.

If it were me, I'd pass. ...but that's just me.

Too heavy to race, too ugly to love?

Steve

I had never noticed that model Dodge until I saw this post a couple of days ago. Then yesterday I was going through my parent's old pictures. There they were in 1960 in Hawaii with one parked prominently in the background.

No one was around to impress with my new found knowledge though. Although they probably wouldn't have been that impressed anyways...
