tea tops n hot rodding?

i hear alot about tea tops n convertables being no good for ho roddin!!is it true u can twist frame with lot of power ? and can u reinforce anything so u can have t tops? is there anything about having t tops at the strip? can u have them at strip? would they be fine for street/strip car!!! thanx for any info!! inkfixer

well, to put it like this, i had a 79 camaro Z28 with tops, I installed a mild 350, after a year, and a few hard launches, the passenger side top wouldn`t go in without a hell of a fight. if a car has a unibody you can add sub frame connectors in most cases and solve the problem, unless your making a lot of power then a cage would be needed, I`ve seen convertables use a roll cage to combat chassis flex.
