I just didnt think adjusting the valve preload had such a major effect. I had been taking all lash from the valves and turning 1/2 turn, but the valves wouldnt seat when i did that. I did the 1/8 turn and it ran amazing. LOL at some of the answers... its not going to be good when the poor guy see this and comes into the room. haha

Seriously though, in 15 minutes or less (if you know what you are doing and have the valve covers off) you could save a lot of frustration.
1/8-1/4 turn (I usually go 1/8) that is ALL that is needed, despite what the Chilton's manual may say. |

I have read alot of Tech's posts and he is very helpful and informative. There are many, many here that I rely on. Alot of great people here who really seem like they want to help. Bentwings and F-Bird88 are two I have been hitting up lately. Thanks guys for helping us newbs out.
How about posting a link to Tech's info on setting the valves. I will be doing it soon, while it is very straight forward and not really hard, it is however a PITA. Steve |
