Teflon vs Viton PC seals on SBC

I've just finished assembling my Dart heads for my 383 build. I've used Comp Cams Teflon PC seals as these were the seals I was told I should use by the dealer that supplied the heads. However, I've stumbled across a disturbing amount of negative comments on various forums about these seals, citing abnormal guide wear (due to them sealing too tightly on the valve stem) and, apparently, they break easily once in service as there's no 'give' in the rigid body of the seal where it seals around the valve stem.

Should I pull my heads apart and install Viton seals instead, or are the negative comments I've seen re. Teflon seals from a tiny minority of folks that have had bad luck with them?

FWIW, the motor will be around 500hp and is going in a weekend street car doing very few miles in a year.

On my refresh after one season, I found a couple of broken down teflon seals and went to viton to try something different. I don't know that it's anything negative, things happen. I haven't torn it down again yet, but don't see any signs of trouble.

If I have a choice. I use Viton seals. I see lots of destroyed Teflon seals.

Agree ^^^ Same as BOBCRMAN. I've been liking the Fluoropolymer seals sold by Valve Train Only(VTO), or the rigid chimney seal (VTO) that I get through Competition Products.
