It really depends on how high you plan on winding the engine. I'd feel comfortable going to 6,000 rpm with factory rods if everything is built correctly. After that it gets a little shaky with stock rods.

Thanks for the help guys. I was planing on going single plane and keeping it under the 6500 rpm mark. If there is doubt that the rods would handle something like that then while I'm there i might as well do it right.

Maybe go with something like the Scat engine kit that has the full rotating assembly. Like this one, But this one has Hypereutectic pistons.
