Under the dash of the passenger side i found this red chewed wire attacthed to this circular thing.. kind of like a saucer shape... what is the wire going to and is it important to fix

Since were Not real sure if this is a Vehicle, or Starship from your Description..I will Take My Best GUESS(<------READ!) best guess....

It could be:
A Ferrite Bead filter from some long ago abandoned car stereo system..
A Sensor From some lost in space Alarm System
A Piezo Buzzer from some warning system long ago not working..
A Buzzer For something Like seat-belts...or Ignition key left in..
A Courtesy lamp holder.
A Switch for a courtesy lamp holder (like glove box)
The Back end of a Broken lighter receptacle..
A lost dash lamp
A Vacuum Switch for a heater/AC system that fell off..

Lamp position switch For gear up/down & locked for landing gear wheel tractors...
Engine Sync Sensor for The left , Right and tail engines...
Stall warning horn/Stick shaker.
Terrain Alert horn
Piezo sensor for fuel flow gauges
Position Switch for the fuel transfer jack.
Cockpit Voice recorder mic
Cabin Smoke detector
Fire suppression sensor
Co~pilot Autopilot over ride switch
Co~pilot Com Transmit switch
"Please Fasten Seat-belts " sign switch..

Its an 84 Z28 camaro 305 V8... besides a picture what other info would be helpful... Im pretty sure this is connected to the problem with my amp... its not getting power to my speakers anymore... i would think that would say a lot as to what the wire would do...seeing that most everything is working properly.... so it seems for now... i will try to get a pic as soon as possible but what would cause my amp to lose power

Looking at your thread from 6/26 on squirrel damaged red/orange wire and this mystery you're hitting us with, I think you need to go to the guy who installed your stereo and have him tell you what you need to fix your problem.I know that I can't tell you what the winter inhabitants ate,but if you take him the pieces,I 'msure he can hook you up.
Hint for next winter:mothballs-I understand rodents can't stand 'em.
