The factory roller cams use a cam plate. The back of the cam gear on the roller cam engines is made different to clear the bolts on the cam plate..

If you can find just the roller cam gear for the roller chain, that is all you need to make it work.

Back of the cam gear is machined different for 55-87 than it is for 88-up, because the roller cam has a cam thrust/retainer plate that bolts to the block behind the gear, and the roller cams front bearing journal has a step machined on it to fit this retainer. The bolt pattern is also different between 55-87 cams and 88-up roller cams, that gear won't even bolt to your cam.

What year block are you trying to fit this cam into??

Hello v8&4speed.
I have the right version so it means I have non roller cam blocks,
but my unit is without the three allen key bolts. What does this means?

Thank you all for your help.
