Temperature Gauge Problem

It seems as though the temperature gauge on my 1994 Mustang v6 3.8 is faulty. I think the problem is that the temperture guage is not falling all the way back to the "C". When started cold the temp guage is at the "M" in the word "NORMAL" that is across the guage. So when I start the car it is rising from the "M" to the normal operating temperture making it look like it is overheating. It stops right before the "H" at the other end of the guage indicating that it could be overheating. So im thinking that it is out of sync with itself. Is this a possiblity or a problem someone else has had? Any suggestions or solutions would be great. Thanks.

Temp

[color=yellow][size=2]Doc Here

I'm not a Mustang guy, So I can't really comment on the history of that system .... Or what's involved with it.

What I think I would Try, Is locate the sender and disconnect the wire. If the gauge falls to "C" Replace the sender

If it goes back to the spot where it has been sitting, Then try disconnecting the sender wire at the gauge, and see if it zero's...If not replace the gauge.

This is a Standard D'arsonal gauge right? Not Digital?
