terminology question

I'm applying epoxy to my car for the flat black look to drive around in. And i've been told to put 2 coats of it on. The epoxy sheet says to spray one coat then another 10-15 min later. This I assumed was one application, and have been applying another applicatoin in an hour to an hour and a half when it is set up enough to topcoat.

I'm thinking this is 2 coats, but wondering if it's actually 4. The first few panels i sprayed fairly light coats, so i'm not terribly worried about them being too thick. Just wondering for the rest of the car, as now i know i'm supposed to be going slower, and have my gun set up better so it's laying it on thicker now.

would it hurt if i put more on? just wondering if i should continue with what i'm doing so the car will look all the same

The first coat is one coat and the 10 minutes is the flash time for the second coat. Each coat needs a flash time.

For what you are doing, if you want to put 4 coats on, no problem
For painting practice try spraying the epoxy like you would a clear coat-slick and wet.

yea, that's what i'm doing now, spraying just enough so it doesn't run, and then the last coat i do like i did the rest so it's got kinda the same look, it's either that or re-spray the peices allready done, which is about half the car.
