Post Terrible body

I bought my car and it had primer on it. I know that this is a good way for someone to hide the defects in the body and was prepared for the worst, and now it is. Wanted to take it down to bare metal before painting to make sure it was in as good as condition as the salesman claimed, and it wasn't. Looks like it was in an accident and someone did a terrible job fixing it, fenders are bent bad and made to look good with LOTS of bondo. But here is my question: Shoule i try and fix teh panels that are on it, or just trash them and buy some new ones? If new ones, should i get fiberglass or metal?

Croz, soory about your discovery. When we start ANY project at the shop, if it is going to be a keeper, we strip it down to the truth. Use aircraft stripper. I get mine at Hel-Mart. Get the medium price stuff.
When done, scotchbright and Comet the entire thing. You will know what you have. Then cover it with DP90. Metal or glass is a matter of opinion, resale value, originality, etc, etc. I am a fan of steel. price new sheet metal and let your budget be your guide. How much do you spend? What is a 69 Goat worth?
69 Goat is a nice ride. I assume you are going to keep it.
