Texas fender laws?

I have a 1974 vehicle that I am going to run fenderless and have searched the texas dps,DOTand googled with no information on fenders. Does anyone know if it is legal to run fenderless in Texas? The car will weigh less than 1800lbs which I know is required in some states. Any info will be helpful.
Thanks,
Scott

I don't know but here in Ca. all you need is to go to the DMV and buy a "Vehicle Code Book" for about five bucks. It has EVERY single law concerning the highway and vehicles.

In Ca. the car has to be under 1500 lb, and registered prior to Jan 1st. 1971.

I have to tell you, there are VERY few cars under 1500lbs. ANY small block Chevy T bucket is over that.

1500lbs may be hard but pretty close. This is a beetle based rod. The stock weight is about 1900lbs and this is extremely stripped.

That is a VERY cool looking car there Scott. Do you have any better photos of it? If it is VW powered it sure should be under the 1800.

Thanks. Here is a link to my buildup. Those are photoshops but I hope to be there pretty soon now that I'm working on this project again. I saw on a jeep forum that Texas does not have fender laws. I think I will double check with DPS just in case.
Thanks,
Scott
