Texas Oil

After my break in, I'm going to use VR1 Racing oil. Now, here is my question, it gets really, really hot down here. How many of ya think I should use the 20-50 weight, or the 10-30 weight??

Thanks for your thoughts

You just think it's hot. Hot is in Phoenix. I lived there for 30 years and ran only 10W30 all the time.

Yeah, you are right, sir! I've been there before. I think 10W-30 should be fine.
Thanks

I can see running 10-30 in tx with a engine from tech but how would that translate over to a run of the mill rebuild?

I see no use for anything other than 10W30 in a street driver. It's a multi-graded oil that can change characteristics with temp changes.

do you know the clearances the engine was built to have? I usually use royal purple or Lucas or other decent oil and I use 10-40 or better ever since I owned a rotary.
