th-350 to 700r-4 swap?

i am about to swap the stock th-350 in my Camaro to a 700r-4 that i have and i know that it will all bolt up the same and everything, but being as the car is a floor shift 3spd auto shifter(stock that came in the car), will the linkage be any different? and also, if i can just "slap er' in" the car, when i go to drive it, will the shift pattern change from PRND21 to PRND321? or is 700r-4 shift pattern the same as a th-350(PRND21)?

thanks,

MuscleCarKid

From what i remember your most likely going to have to change the gate in your shifter because you wont be able to get it into you first gear properly, seeing as the gate doesn't have the same amount of notches in it. Also make sure you adjust you linkage as well loosen the linkage screw that is on the bracket set the tranny in park from under the car and set your shifter into park re tighten and check to see if your gears correspond with where your shifter is indicating it.
You will be able to use that shifter but might as well do er right so you can use all your gears

If the 350 is the same length the drive shaft should be fine. You will have to move the crossmember back.

a 700r4 /4L60 trans is the same length as a t-350 with a 9 inch tail housing. A Camaro should have a 6 inch tail housing.

TV cable is very important on the 700 trans, must be hooked up and adjusted.

the year of this Camaro ?

the 700 trans is longer.

The mount spot is about 2 inches further back than a t-350 trans... so the cross member needs some type of modification.
