th 350 duel feed cluches

I am building my first duel feed tranny,do i still leave out 3 check balls leaving in the one by mod.Not sure myself.I am leaving out the 2nd from the bottom sealing ring on my pump stator.Drilling out my2nd and 3rd feeds to .125.I am not installing the lip seal in the direct drum and plugging the hole in my case.Any input would be helpful due to it being my first.this is going in my 1985 GMC,I want a firm shift but not a hard one??? Thank you very much for your time
