If I had a TH-350, stock, but strong, how much horse power/torque can I put through it before it starts to fall apart?

Torque is the critical factor on a tranny. I wouldn't try to put more than about 300 ft/lbs through a stock TH350. Don't ask how I know.

OK, that's good info.
I have a crate 350 sbc with about 220 HP running flat 15's. Soon with be a 383 or the 408 SBC from T and L engines. http://www.tandlengines.com/chevrolet_index.html The 383 has 465 tq and the 408 has 500 tq. I obviously need to get a decent rebuild.
I know you might be thinking rear end but I got that covered with a GN 8.5" I slapped in the Elky in Dec. of last year.

i am running a 408 in my 67 camaro 550 hp 500 torque i have a th350 had some work dont ask me what 3500 stall 373 gears last year busted the bell housing from the starter well had about 1 in holding it when i took it outit went all the way across. cole
