th-350 question

does anyone know how hard it is to change the output shaft on a th-350 tranny? and what is involved??? any help would be appericiated, i have a 9 in need to change to 6 in or cut my driveshaft

I am not a transmission guy but that exact question has been asked before and it is no easy task. The transmission needs to be removed and a lot of disassembly is required. It would be easier and cheaper to have the drive shaft cut and re-welded

The out put shaft is the last part out and the first part in. In other words you have to completely disassemble the tranny to change it.Much cheaper and easier to change drive shaft length.

A local trans guy quoted me $75 to do the swap on a T-350, but that was ~5 years ago, so it might be more now.
