Putting in a shift kit TH350 When removing the last gasket a small screen filter fell out. Don't have a clue where it came from or if I even need it?
Help please.

there should be two screens... one that is small and cone shaped, the other is larger and shaped like a ...wine glass (best i can describe). what one fell out? Im going to guess the larger glass shaped one. Im also guessing you have the directions to the shift kit and this should reference it. if not, if youre under the vehicle with your head up front and your feet down by the axle this larger filter will go in towards the rear and drivers side of the trans...It goes in opened end first
I think Im correct but hope someone can give a better description then me

It was little IMHO. Cone shaped. Does it need to even be there?
Thanks,
Arley

Thanks for the reply. I was tempted to no put it back in. Question? How do I convert my torq. wrench to 100 in. lbs. which is required on the install of the valve body?

There are 12 inch pounds in a foot pound. Most ft. lb. torque wrenches are not vey accurate at low settings , even beam wrenches. I would advise you to get a inch lb. wrench.
By the way, find where the screen goes and put it back in. It doesn't do anything till it needs to. When it needs to do something it may save your trans fron a catastrophic failure instead of a couple plates needing replaced.
