th 400 downshift help

i was wondering if anyone out there knows how the electronic downshift looks like and the set up.It would be helpful to find a diagram. My cousin had the car and took it all apart and dose not remember how it was all set up. I am working on a 1970 chevelle with a 454. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks for your help it is much appreciated.

On the f-body, 12 volts goes into the kickdown switch. The other side of the switch connects to the transmission solenoid. The other side of the solenoid is grounded.

When you accelerate WOT, the switch closes sending 12 volts to operate the solenoid. That alters fluid flow in the transmission cause downshift.

The kickdown switch is mounted with the carburetor, driver's side mounted on its own bracket. Chevelle is likely to be similar.

You should find two slide on connectors for the switch and one slide on connector at the driver's side of the transmission at the back.
