ok so my vacuum modulator is messed up... went to the parts store and they asked if i wanted the gold one or the red stripe.. is their a difference other then price.
The trans guru in Orlando many moons ago told me to use the modulator w/a small gold can w/a red stripe.
It's adjustable- turning it CW (tighter) will make the shifts firmer and later, and vice versa. Use small increments as you adjust it, 1/4-1/2 turn at the most.
That said, I ended up always using a B&M modulator- which BTW is the small gold w/red stripe... At least the last one I bought (still hanging on the wall) was.
thanks.... that is the cheaper one also i guess that makes it the best candidate to replace the 40 year old original..
