th350 6 inch to 9

while at the local reycler I came across a th350 with a 6 inch tailshaft at a good price. Now can I slide the innards of this one into the now defunct case of my 9inch 350 and is this something I should attempt to do on the tailgate as I haven't been endowed with a garage or even a piece of concrete for that matter.

you could, if you have compressor tools and such that you will need
same parts and case otherwise, as long as one isnt a C model

if the input shafts are identical in every way then it will work

if not then you wont be able to no way no how

good luck

If you haven't worked on a transmission before, don't touch it. It is not as simple as take a few bolts out and slide out and slide in. Clearances need to be checked and you need some special tools. Try to take apart your junk trans and you will see.
