th350 convertor queston...

How can I tell if me converters going out? The converter is an th350, 2500 stall. The problemim having is, at a low rpm, the transmission pulls off and shifts out fine. But accelerate at a high rpm I feel a vibration wen it slips. What's my problem? Side the transmission need to be rebuilt?

slippp'n away

i'm not an expert on this.. but if your giving it good throttle and reach some rpm higher then 2500 and it shacking.. i'd be looking hard at the converter.. from idle to 2500 u'll get some slip but after that it should be locked up... i've got the same setup on my bucket and never had a problem.. now don't forget the wt of the veh has alot to do with it... if your car/truck wt's alot u really don't need a high stall, but a bucket is different..

It will slip/vibrate well under 2500 just normal driving. Say for example, pulling on to an intersection. Where it takes a good bit of acceleration. Around 2000 or less it pulls...but after it hit 1-2nd, 2-3 it slips/vibrates also. I still can feel the shift kit
