th350 no forward gears

i pulled my engine apart for a cam swap and then the freshly built th350 will not pull in forward gears, only reverse.
i have changed the filter and with the tire's off the ground it acts fine going through the gears, even when i pull it down in low, but put the car on the ground nothing!! please help!!

This may sound crazy, because you have probably checked already, but did you check your transmission fluid after putting the engine back in? Reverse would still work because it is directly driven, but the forward gears are dependend upon pressure and would still turn with no resistance ie: having the tires off of the ground.

Sounds like your builder might have cut a forward drum seal.

You might give him the opportunity to fix it. He should have caught it on the air check but...

reverse operates good?

this tells me the input shaft is connected- transfer power,,, pump is making good pressure.

manual low (1st) , still no movement?

sounds like a forward clutch problem as mentioned. Seals , clutch pack burned up , cracked piston.

fluid level is up??

Would have to concur on the forward clutch failure could be a seal or a one of the pump rings, But its going to have to come apart for sure.
