TH350 no second Gear

My Transmission performs great in first gear and in third but second seems to be completely missing.

When I place the shifter in Drive and let it shift automatically it starts in 1st and then goes to 3rd (skipping 2nd entirely) no slipping between gears, nice and crisp, just no 2nd. When I place the shifter in 1st, up shifting or down shifting it is crisp and tight. When I place the shifter in 2nd and start from a dead stop it feels just like 1st. Here is the twist…. If I start in 1st wind it up and then shift to 2nd it feels like neutral, (it isn’t really “slipping” it just feels like neutral.

I bought a supposedly rebuilt TH350 and installed a B&M Transpak, I have a Lokar shifter that is adjusted properly, the new vacuum modulator is tightly connected to the manifold vacuum source. Did I possibly install the B&M Transpak wrong or is there an internal issue?

This is driving me crazy, any thoughts? Thanks for your help

usual cause of this is a broken intermediate sprag or the race or .... both.
Dont worry how old you are... it is the mileage on your body that adds up.
