TH350 reprogram kit questions

Guys, I ran into a problem last night with my first TH350 rebuild. I have a Transgo reprogram kit to put into the valve body, and all was going well until I went to put the replacement manual low spring into the vb, (the blue spring) and noticed that it really isnt a spring at all....its a solid coil!? Its wound like an extention spring and has ZERO give. It does fit into the vb, but it leaves the valve ridged to the point that the dowel pin falls right back out. Is this the right part in my kit? Please help so I dont waste another precious weekend waiting to talk to Transgo. I have a standard '77 th350, and verified that the kit is right (not for a 350C) Thanks all!

take a screw driver or similar device, spread out this spring coil so the retaining steel pin does not fall out.

the design is to block this valve in place ,it will not move with this coil spring device in place... it suppose to be like that.

it over rides the function design of GM so you can manually select low gear at any speed...

I relocated your double post to the dump area
