TH350 tailshaft question

Is there an o-ring that seals this unit to back of tranny? Had a long tailshaft but it exploded when a u joint gave on me. Cracked to peices. Had an old short shaft laying around. Just curious. Thanks.

There is a small round tail shaft seal that goes on the tail shaft of the transmission and then your tail shaft just slides up in and then your done.

this is a bit confusing to me...sorry

if you are talking about the tail housing that bolts to the main case.... there is a square cut O-ring seal on the tail housing

if you are talking about the sealing onto the slip yoke , there is a metal sleeve on the out put shaft with an O-ring inside of the sleeve.
