TH350 Tailshaft question

I am going to rebuild my TH350. I have everything apart except the reverse clutch pack/tail shaft assembly. How does this come apart?I removed the C clip on the shaft which let me remove the basket. Now I'm down to the clutsh assembly.

maiors2,

I think you are at the rear clutch pack and there is a lock ring that holds the thick pressure plate in place. The trick is there is a spring that is forcing the pressure plate clockwise in the case. Now if the case is worn the aluminum is pounded and the pressure plate is now out of time with the splines in the outer case. You just have to rotate the pressure plate by what ever means possible to get it free from the case. Then everything will fall out. The rear piston can be removed by either grabbing it and lifting with your fingers or you can blow air into the rear port and it will "pop" right out.

Have Fun

that's what was wrong.I had to rotate it a little.Since it is worn like that is the case still good to use?

depends on how much the case is "notched"... if its really bad and u have the dinero., id get another case., if not, they make a couple different types of case savers that go to the 350.
