TH350-TCI manual shift valve body questions....

Hey fellers..

I installed a new TCI manual shift, forward pattern, valvebody in my TH350 a few weeks ago and have been fairly satisfied with it. Car is a 72 Chevelle, SBC 355cid, TH350, 3800 stall etc etc.. It was my first one, so I took my time and I thought it was an easy mod. Man...When you shift it...IT SHIFTS...HARD! Love it...

My questions/curiousity is..when you have manual control of the trans, select 3rd(drive) and take off from a stand still(gently) what components are in play? I understand it generates enormous heat(fluid,t/c, entire system) and I rarely(ok once) do it, but was kinda curious. I did it once just to see how it felt, but the slipping I feel, is that the t/c or the clutches?

thx

when the trans shifter is in 3rd gear , you have the forward clutch applied, the intermediate clutch applied, the direct clutch applied
