TH350 Trans mount
I was needing to lower the transmission crossmember and the engine itself and was wondering, The stock transmission mount supports the trans by it resting on it, Does anyone know if the mount can support the hanging weight? I was thinking of bolting the crossmember mounts (2) to 2 new trans mounts and bolting them to the frame it should lower the trans about 2" and also isolate vibration if any is there. I just have no idea if the mount can support hanging weight. Thanks, Eric

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you draw a picture and post it.Depending on your design What I think you want to do should work as the lower part of the mount is one solid piece of steel.

lumberjacknooj, I understand now and agree with you that metal spacers would be the best as trans mounts where not meant to hang weight only support weight.
