I'm wondering what "extras" everyone does to their trans.
My last rebuild was a success and I wan't to get a little more serious for my camaro project.
I plan on installing:
Fresh master rebuild
hardened outer race
machining direct apply piston for extra clutch
using four bushings in sun gear
and a few other little things
I'll probably use the transgo1+2 kit possible stage 3 full manual what are pros/cons
Will this kit (2) downshift to 1st at any speed automatically?
On muscle car they showed using something out of a 700r4 don't remember what that was and sandblasting the steels. Does anyone else do this?
I don't think I'll need the 36 element sprag and drum as I've read.
Car currently has 3.42's and I plan on switching to 4.10's
Engine will be a 383 with WP S/R torquers 2.02/1.60 around 10:1
still looking at cams. I'm going to run a tunnel ram with dual 390 Holley's.

IF you do not drill a hole in the sun gear bushings (dual set at each end) , you can cut off the oil flow to the planetary .
The 700 uses a wider low roller clutch in the center support. This will require you to check the clutch pack clearance of the low/ reverse clutch.
The 700 center support has a few different heights.
I do not recommend the steels be bead blasted. Scuff them up with red scotch bright or similar process.
The -2 kit TransGo will down shift at all speeds. The kit has a spring that blocks the low gear over-ride valve in place
Dont worry how old you are... it is the mileage on your body that adds up.
