Th350c

Just wondering. What does the "C" stand for (TH350C).
Thats the tranny I have in my money sucking 81 monte carlo.
And when would it be wise to rebuild? I just flushed it at 209,000km. It shifts through the gears nicely still, but I also want it to stay that way. Anyways, I feel a little better about the whole thing ( friend said it was a th200.........That goof.) Got a pan pic and checked it out for myself.

A TH350C is a lock up converter TH350. if you look in the mid section of the tranny on the drivers side, there will be a electrical plug there. when the tranny gets up to speed in 3rd gear the lock up engauges and eliminates converter slippage to increase mileage. Most of the early G bodies as you have came with a TH200 that has the same lockup feature, if it`s a TH200 it won`t have a modulator valve. There was a TH375A and a TH375B, the A was almost identical to the TH400, the B was almost Identical to a TH350.
