thames gasser

I.ve bought a stone stock thames van that i.d love to build gasser style.First stumbling block is the motor. In my head its gotta have a 392 or 426 hemi, but straight off the bat I.ve been told major chopping of the whole bulkhead and body would be needed?I.m expecting to masacre the body a bunch, but I still want it to look like an old van.Anyone done this swap, how far back should i mount it?At the moment I.m thinking it will be strip only but that could change?Gratsi

A belated welcome, I see you registered a long time ago.
Your question would be better placed in General Rodding Tech or Hotrodding Basics.

I wish you luck...try this web site for some gasser ideas...

I've seen some Thames panels on it. It helped me a lot when I was in the concept mode. The pictures there are incredible.
