Just wanted to drop a line and thank all the knowledgeable participants on here that helped me with my body and paintwork project, both through answering my questions and previously posted info.

After 13 long, everlasting years, I have paint on my 70 Galaxie 500. The body isnt perfectly straight, simply because I am incompetent, but I learned enough from this site to get it acceptable.

The paint...... well I ran into about every conceivable problem possible, but with a little wetsanding and buffing I can fix most of it. Live by Murphy's Law, I say, it keeps life interesting.

A million years from now, someone will dig up the remains of my car and have several well preserved insect specimens in the clearcoat, just like ancient mosquitoes in amber. Nice to know that I am doing my part to preserve wildlife.

Congrats. Best way to learn something is to do it. And truth be told, look closely enough at any paint job and there are preserved animal and mineral specimens galore!

From the photo, it looks good to me. If you are happy with it it must be right. You are the only one that matters on your own paint job.

Look at the bugs on the bright side. The ones that you got, won't make it into my paint jobs, but that is OK, I'll get their relatives.
