Is there a 12 bolt posi rear end that would fit a second gen camaro?

I own a 1977 camaro and wanted to put a 12 bolt posi rear end on it. Is there one that will bolt right on and if so what would be a good site to find one, or would i have to get one and modify to make it fit? Would appreciate the help.

They had 12 bolts in the early Camaro and Trans Am, some Formulas with 455 in the early 70s, not sure when they stopped producing them, but they are out there. I have one from a 70 TA in the blue Formula in my avatar, they probably wont be cheap. You can get bolt in rears from the aftermarket, 12 bolts, 9 inch, and Dana 60s, I think even some Mopar 8 3/4 rears are available. Some will fit the F body spring width.

That being said the 8.5" 10 bolt that comes in the 2nd gen isnt a weak piece, they have withstood quite a bit of power. I know of a couple ten second Trans Ams running 10 bolt rears with 455s in them.

If you really want one, look into DTS, Moser, and Strange. I think Currie only does 9" Fords, but I havent really looked.
