Is there any value in an old powerglide?

I have had 2 powerglide trannys sitting in my backyard for a while. I am going to get rid of them. Is there any value there?

I heard somewhere that drag racers are building them up for racing, is that true?

Aluminum case Powerglides have some value ...
The iron ones ... almost no one wants them.

What would you ask for them? I was just going to throw them out.

I have a friend who builds Powerglides for drag racers and he pays $40 a piece for cores ... I sold him three ... a few weeks ago. A friend was cleaning up his place and was going to throw them in the metal bin ( at the collection station ) ... I put them in my pickup and took them straight to the transmission guy.

I have seen some shops get $200.00 for a good aluminum case powerglide. {a good rebuildable core]

Don't throw yours away, they will only become more valuable as time goes on.
