Is there a market for 330's ??

I have a 330 sitting in a buddy's garage.(attached to a powerglide) I am thinking of tearing it apart and building it back up, just for some experience in uncharted water. I figure I can take this on as a winter project.
My question is, Should i put performance parts in on the rebuild?? I dont want to blow my cash on something that wont sell.Should i soup it up or just put it back together??

Is this an Olds engine in the same family as the 394? If so I would be interested in how the 'glide bolts up to it.

dont mess with hopping it up , most people that are gona even look at it arn't gona touch it if its not orignal . people that are gona want it, will probably want it to put in a restoration project, and most of them will probably want to have it rebuilt themselves, so try selling it like it is first, if your just looking to sell it, see if theres even a market first before you throw money in it and still cant sell it.
p.s. checked into it alittle there are two 330 olds the 1st dont remember exact year something like 64 grouped all by itself should be similiar but not enterchainable, the other is grouped with the rest of the 350-455 style olds stuff, they are listed as 1st & 2nd designs in the books .

The 330 Olds was the first of the "new" generation of olds engines that replaced the aging 394s who's design dated clear back to 1949 and the 303. The 330 is a very good engine, and if I'm not mistaken, the crankshafts are forged steel, and will interchange with a 350 Olds, so if you find a true olds man, it's worth something. The 330 is physically the same as the 350 and 403 Olds, while the 400, 425 and 455 are of the same basic engine family, but have taller decks.

the 330 is accually a pretty good engine to hop up. We had one in a 67 cutlass and it was a fun car untill it rusted out. the crank is forged steel and people do recomend putting it into a 350 but what is the cube difference 20? if you have the 330 and don't have the other 350 just use the 330. There is nothing wrong with it. It is better quality metal then any chev 350 or 327. however if you are going to fix up any engine with performance parts and try to sell it afterwords, you will never be money ahead.

The 330 is a great engine and yes they did all come with forged steel cranks. The cranks are getting valueable to the guys that are building high performance 350 olds engines. The only down side with building up a 330 is that you need a custum ground cam but besides that all the parts should be faily easily obtainable. The 2 speed tranny its with is not a power gride but a olds jetway most likely which is a poor excuse for a powerglide. The stalk heads on the high performance virsions are also have very good flow.
