Are these speed possible in these cars?

2001 Ford Escort ZX2, stock---145mph., claims he was being followed by his uncle in his corvette. He said it was in a mile, I dont believe that. my 71 charger 440, 727, and 2.76, could only get 125 in a little more that a mile.

1992 Chevy 1500, 350ci., Stock----131mph.

Any of them possible? or is it bullship?

I beleive that speed could be reached easily in a mile . . . . . . . . . .if you drop the Escort from a B-52 cargo bay.

call me crazy...

but if i'm not mistaken, ford dropped a hot cosworth sho type motor into some of the zx2's so it might be possible.... like i am about to say, i don't know which exact motor or what, but spooki was telling me,( he's always rambling on about 4 bangers )
something about some of the zx2's having a hot motor in them.....

Your only talking a 130 horse 4 banger. I'd say they are some made up numbers. Most trucks...and I 'm not sure about the '92s have limiters that will shut them down before you hit 100. Also what throws up a flag to me is who is looking down at a speedometer at that speed while following somebody and can determine the speed to the nearest 1 mph. If you ever notice when someone b.s. about speed they have a wierd number like 131. Most would say around 130. I once had my Z28 up to 143 1/2 mph!!! C"mon...I could just hear that conversation between the Escort and the truck!!

Oh man.. I left you sitting!! I was hitting 145 and still going, Yea, well I had my truck up to 131 and it ain't even sposed to do that dude. Man I'm sold on those yellow stickers. Without those, neither of us would have made it past 85!!!! WooHoo!! can't wait to get on the net and tell my buds this. Hahaha I blowed away a truck with a 350 with my little 130 horse 4 banger with Jegs stickers. Although I gotta tell ya dude...I got a NOS sticker on my fenderwell. That's top secret **** though man so don't let anyone else know. Ite!!

ROFL Don't forget about the alarm clock tach. And remember. . . ANY time you add a tach that reads over 10k, that always means that your engine is now capable of reaching and sustaining that RPM. GO FOR IT BUDDY!!!

Man, you think those yellow sticker kick butt, some dude has Turbo stickers man!! For real Turbo stickers for the lame ride to boost the HP. My 69 Datsun Roadster had a 2000 cc engine 5spd trans, two SU45mm carbs and made 155HP, no turbo. No ***** guys.
