They have to sell it, somewhere

I am working on a 1965 Impala 2 door hard top. When I got started on the rear window, I noticed that the previous owner tried to get by cheaply. The window channel (metal frame I am talking about) is rusted, actually it is gone on most of the sides and all of the bottom. I will not get into how he got by, not enough time. Does anyone sell this replacement part, or do I need to go to a junk yard and rape a car witha cutting wheel to replace it. If someone knowswhere they sell it, can they send me the link? Thanks.

If you are talking about the part of the body that the window actually sits in, then your only option is to replace the rusted material. There are firms that make replacement panels for this purpose. I would not hold out much hope of finding usable materail in a wrecking yard

I also have Sinclair's but they do not have the part I need. They have it for the wrong year. Any other places you can think of?

Hi Shepardb,

I just received my replacement panel from www.carsinc.com. It was about $137 (includes shipping). They seem to have resonable prices. Beware, that panel took me 5 months to get from the time I placed the order until it showed up. Be patient it will save you a ton of work.

Thanks

Zeus
