think $800 is worth this?

i found this on ebay (gotta love that place ) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT and was wondering if anybody else would pay the amount he's asking or started with?

i'm guessing the tranny & transfer case comes with it. but i'd pay it cause i ALWAYS wanted a c/k stepside i think there awesome but then again thats just me

eh, its an ok deal depending on where you live. First of all you have to assume it goes for 800 dollars. THe bids could take it up to 1200 or more. Then if you've got to take a day off of work, rent a trailer to the tune of 50-80 bucks and spend 200 dollars in gas to get it you're more like 1200-1300 into just getting this thing into your driveway. Then you need a decent motor which a respectable mill (unless you just want a questionable junkyard mill) will cost you about 1000 dollars to have a nice fresh mill. Now your truck costs 2300 dollars and needs about a grand worth of paint for a bargain basement paintjob. Its going to need some brake work and I'm sure some other odds and ends (hoses, linkages, electrical) which is probably going to cost you another 500 bucks.

So all told you're looking at an investment of probably 10 solid days of work (5 weekends) or about 80 hours and about 4000 dollars. I'd find one that was already done.

Clean title and good running gear is worth 800.00 out here in Ca, anyway. Do you have the smog check stuff to contend with? That could make a nightmare out of it if you do and you have to buy all the smog equip to get it legal.
Didn't you just buy a blazer? What are you doing, collecting these things? hahahahaah

just saying it went for $800 i'd buy it!! my bossman would go get it like we did when i baught the blazer. he'll fire up the toter and hook up to the equipment trailer and ride.

so theres my transportation and it's about hr and an half away from were i'm at. as for gas he'll only want $50 if any. god i love that 130 gal diesal tank, it seems like it never runs out

as for the motor i got a sbc 383 waitng to go into something since i'm getting rid of the caprice.

so yes it sounds good to me . but then again i think i'm just talking myself into it b/c i really want an old stepside

If everything else is there and working its worth 800.00 but not much more without looking at it first.

thats what my pointer finger keeps saying, but i just don't have the $800 yet

i even buged my bossman all day and he just won't come off that xtra $300 that i need but he said he'll go get it...no problem there. he wants to buy the blazer though but he won't let me have the $300. i think he thinks if he won't let me borrow the $300 that i'll come off the blazer for cheap

maybe if i just keep bugging him he'll come off of it

No, I never sell anything

After I am finished with it it usually goes to the recyclers.

I just cut up a 78 short fleetside 1/2 ton 4X4 with a 396, (wrong motor, I know), SM465/205 and scrapped it for the 3.70 axles and power steering for MY blazer.
