Thinking Of Repainting My T-bucket Rally Yellow, Looking For Opinions

1 Attachment(s)
Seriously thinking of repainting my beloved "HENRY" Rally Yellow this spring. What do you guys think ? Here's what it looks like now . Would you leave it like it is (Black Cherry) or go with the 2011 Camaro Rally Yellow ? Seriously in a quandry here . I would be keeping the frame and underpinnings the same red as now . Thanks in advance ........

Personally I love yellow on a car... but yellow and red is really not that appealing of a combination in my eyes. Maybe it's repressed childhood trauma from that famous hamburger-pedalling clown :(

Seriously though, it's your car. Do what you think looks good.

Look at the color pr8 it a sweet color and I have done a 35 chevy in it and it's really nice with a lot of flash it gets a lot of people looking at it at the shows. T buckets are easy depending on how well they have been taken care of I say get after it

are you going for a brighter color or just like the yellow? I think if you want the red to pop like it does with the black you'll have to find other the colors that do the same. I'm not too found of the color red in general, so I'm probably of little use but maybe a bright blue might suit you?

I've always liked this color a lot:

Not to sure on how it would go with red, but I've heard bright blues and reds go together? I've never been good at matching though... i wear jeans and a t-shirt everyday :D

That is a beautiful blue. I just want to paint it something that will really pop on the street. I get a lot of positive feedback at the gas pump , etc., but would like to be more visible cruising . BTW . I also wear jeans and a colored t-shirt every day .LOL

Check out their friemists and metalics, Titanium Gray Metallic would look great with the red IMO

Beautiful paint colors .

I changed my "T" from a well worn root beer color (painted in the seventies) To Eastwoods "Electric Yellow". Paint went on great with easy to color sand and buff.

It looked so good. I changed all the small fittings and steering/chassis parts to a "chrome" powder coat finish.

Then changed the interior color.. Then the gauges to white background electrics. NEW CAR!!!

My buddy who owns a body shop owes me a favor for building his 454, and he insists on using Sherwinn Williams 'cause that is what he is used to spraying. He is going to do all the sanding and prep and buffing also .

This is not yellow but late Mustang Venetian Orange. It has a kind of a color flop depending on the light. Right now in my fluorescent lighted shop - dang but it looks yellow. Sunlight - is it orange? Is it yellow?

I really didn't like it a lot when I started but as I finished more and more panels - love it now. And in the sun - it is bright!! That photo above, the car is very dusty and the trunk lid is not adjusted but since fixed, rebuffed with Meguires #2 and polished with their NXT.
As said above - not sure how red would look with yellow, but it's your decision.

And that license plate - a left over from my t-bucket and not valid

That is a perfect hot rod color. Yellow, red, black, t-buckets and pre-35 cars.

nothing wrong with Yellow if you like it...but i agree yellow witha red chassis is not very appealing. Black, titanium, maybe charcoal, or yellow also for the chassis.

Yellow car with red chassis makes me think Ronald McDonald or the Shriners.

I like the Chevy Victory Red also, very nice color, looks great on a '74 Camaro with White SS stripes that I helped a friend do a few years ago.

Any idea what the wheels you are using are?? I've never seen anything quite like them, almost looks like a cross between aluminum slot mags and the Radir wheel.

That sure looks great ! I also think it would go good with the red frame and not look Mickey D's . I am also thinking of maybe going with Burgundy or Brandywine or something of that sort that has more red than what I have now . Here's one I took a pic of last summer at a cruise in.
