Thoughts on the Lunati Barebones Cam

Hello I am looking to upgrade my 355 with a new camshaft, I was looking at this lunati bare bones cam for around the street. http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=2548&gid=312 to replace my http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=1984&gid=287 . Has anyone had any problems or praise for these cams.

The specs on my motor/tranny are
Brodix Ik 200 64 cc's with minor porting
600cfm edelbrock and 750 holley
10.2 to 1 compression pistons(4 refliefs 6 cc's) with 0.44 quench
Edelbrock performer intake (non-airgap)
Mallory Hei distributor
4 speed with 3.23 gears

If somebody doesn't mind could they dyno sim the new cam vs the old cam for me. Thanks

Those cams are very close to one another- so much so that you might not notice a difference except in the idle and perhaps a bit less bottom end.

I believe that if I had the choice to change something, I'd get an RPM (not AG) intake for it, tune the ignition curve, install an "H" or "X" pipe to connect the two sides of the exhaust system and see if that didn't pick it up some.

Maybe even some 3.55 rear gears.

I just wanted to upgrade to a roller cam with similar street manners because I am concerned about a cam lobe going flat and less ft/lbs on the lower end will hurt my feelings also.

Well, w/a roller lobe loss isn't any longer the problem, but there's other considerations when choosing a retro roller cam, as I'm sure you've seen- like w/limiting end play and distributor drive gear compatibility. Nothing that can't be dealt with, though. Then there's the added cost...

I'd say that unless you actually have a cam going bad, to not do anything- if it broke in good, and you use the right lubrication, that FT cam and lifters should go 100K miles, IMO.

I believe the cam is going bad, I just did the break in ( to lunati's specs) with gm eos oil zddp additive and 5-30 gm conventional oil but I didnt not take the inner spring out and I think that the spring pressure may have been too much (125lb closed and 325lb open). I checked the valves, the number 7 intake took more turns to get zero lash so the cam is done. Im going to pull the pan first to see if there are any filings and other goodies.

I am running a lunati voodoo retrofit roller cam in my 350 right now and have ran it for almost a year now. Also I am running an after market hei distributor with no issues on the gear. The voodoo cams are really nice and mine is this one http://www.lunatipower.com/Product.aspx?id=1989&gid=289

With my voodoo cam I get about 15 inches of vacuum at idle and its way better then most of the other after market cams similar to it as lunati makes there's open the valve quicker but lets it down a little bit gentler them comp cams xtreme energy series.
