I wonder if a reason automotive engineers don't use it is because of collision and the foam might affect the way the car would fold and take the impact, the try to make the vehicle take the impact and not the passengers.

I would not use it anyways, like it was said in a previous post "if it was something that could be done and work good you would have already heard about it and we wouldn't have this post.

You also wouldn't want to be any where near the stuff if it caught fire. That's why there's fire retardant foam in the seats.

use the correct product and yhou won't have any problems.
