Thread file source?

My old Snap-On thread file is getting dull on the most used pitches and needs to be replaced, I bought it 1977. I went out to buy a new one and although I realize the quality of a lot of tools has declined in recent years the thread files I could find were appalling. Heck the dull teeth on the one I am going to throw away are way sharper than the any of the teeth on the new files I am finding! These things are total junk! I mean they are useless, why bother? Does anyone have any idea what brand is still a good file? KD was good at one time but I could not find one of those, I have no idea if they are still good or not or if they too are now just Chinese junk.

I could find files easy enough but none were worth buying. I guess what I am wanting to know is can someone vouch for a particular brand?

We have some pretty good ones at work. If I get the chance I'll stop by the tool room and take a look.

The two brands we carry in our tool rooms are from Jaw Mfg and General Tool.

I don't know if it helps but it's the best I could come up with.
