threaded rod head studs
i was wondering if i could take threaded rod and cut it into the right size and use them as head studs
would the threads inside the heads cause any harm?
Are you talking about using all-thread to hold the heads to the block? All-thread won't have the tensile strength to sufficiently seal the head to the block. That is not a good idea. :nono:
ARP head studs usually have a tensile strength higher than a typical Grade 8 bolt. I'd guess that most all-thread is Grade 3, maybe Grade 5 at best.
why not just use stock bolts cheap and stronger than all thread
